FUTA Admission Process
Like every other federal university, admission into FUTA is very competitive.
Eligible candidates must always usually fulfil all the following criteria:
- They must have at least five O’level credit passes in relevant subjects. The required subjects are usually determined by the department the candidate is applying for admission into.
- They must have satisfactory scores in UTME/DE examinations. FUTA admits candidates through Direct entry and UTME, and for UTME a minimum score of 200 is usually the benchmark.
- Prospective candidates must choose the university as their firat choice institution during their UTME registration. Unlike some other schools that ay consider second choice, FUTA places huge preference on first choice.
During the admissions’ intake season every year, the university opens their admissions’ registration portal. All admssion-seeking candidates are then required to purchase a form from a designated bank and carry out some basic registration and authentication processes on the school portal. Afterwards, the school sends out post-UTME screening invitations to all candidates it deems fit and qualified, and the results of this screening is used to admit candidates into respective departments in the school.
After a period of time, the school releases the admission list in batches, and then all candidates who participated in the admission screening exercise can now proceed online to check if they have been offered provisional admission.
