It is no news that Diezani Madueke has been alleged of various frauds in Nigeria and to date, she has not shown up for trial in court. Recently, a High Court in Yola, Adamawa state, found two men guilty and imprisoned them in connection over N362m purportedly dispensed by the formal Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke. The cash was allegedly given to the two INEC officials during the 2015 presidential election. The Cable broadcasts that Justice Nathan Musa of High Court 1 on Thursday, December 12th in Yola ordered the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to produce the formal Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke who happens to be the third suspect for trial.
The court also said that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) should work closely with the International Police Organisation (INTERPOL) to carry out the arrest of Diezani Madueke.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged three people, two men identified as Ibrahim Mohammed Umar (1st defendant), Sahabo Iya Hamman (2nd defendant), and a popular woman known as Allison-Madueke (3rd defendant). The court sentenced the two men to a total of 42 years in jail after found guilty of accepting a bribe.
The presiding judge, Musa, said both INEC officials will serve a jail tenure of seven years each for the three count charges filed against them by the EFCC.
