Convicted Orji Uzor Kalu Pleaded with prison warders, ”Don’t handcuff me in public” as court sentences him to 12 years’ imprisonment

Justice has prevailed in Abia state as Ex-Governor and present senator for Abia north national assembly, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was found guilty of 7.1 billion naira fraud which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) held him for. Kalu was sentenced in Federal High Court, Lagos, by Justice Idris Mohammed. The judge found him and his co-defendant guilty of 39-count filed against him by the EFCC.

After the judgment has been pronounced, Kalu was spotted pleading with the prison warders to be tolerant with him. He politely asked the warders, “Where are you taking us to?” as he was being escorted to the holding facility. Subsequently, he whipped soberly and said, “Don’t handcuff me, I will follow you”.
Kalu’s fellow worker, Udeogu, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The company. Slok Limited, which was used in executing the fraud was ordered to be incapacitated by the Judge
