After the much-anticipated ruling, justice triumphed in Imo state as the Supreme Court invalidated the 2019 governorship election. The serving governor, Ihedioha was not appropriately elected as the governor of the state, says the seven-member panel of justice in Supreme Court.
The APC 2019 elected governor, Hope Uzodinma, was announced as the winner of the March 9th, 2019 governorship election.
Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who was the lead judge of the apex court, ordered that the certificate of return issued to Emeka should be withdrawn instantly and a new certificate of return should be provided to the actual winner, Uzodinma.
Diligently following the court ruling, the lead judge also mandated that Uzodinma must be sworn in as the elected governor without further delay.
