World Boxing great, Floyd Mayweather a.k.a. Money Man has signalled his intention to come out of retirement for a major fight in 2020. He made the above insinuation on his verified Instagram page where he posted an image of himself in boxing hand wraps and trunks, with the inscription: “Coming out of retirement in 2020”. In a subsequent post, he revealed that he had begun working with a key stakeholder in the UFC, Dana White, on a major boxing event for 2020.
This is not the first time Mayweather will come out of retirement, if the posts on his social media page are true. He had earlier retired in 2013, but came out of retirement in 2015 to fight UFC star Conor McGregor in a money-spinning bout. This time around, it is said that his main motivation for coming out of retirement is to bring his record career wins to 50-0.
There are already a number of guesses as to who the opponent might be. Manny Pacquiao has been mooted, as has a rematch with McGregor. However, time will tell the true identity of the challenger in 2020.
